Small Business Website Cost in India (2026)
Short answer
In India in 2026 a small business website usually costs between ₹5,000 and ₹50,000. A basic static site of a few pages sits around ₹10,000 to ₹25,000, a site you can edit yourself on a CMS around ₹30,000 to ₹75,000, and an online store from about ₹15,000 on a template to ₹3 lakh or more when it is custom-built. Hosting renewal, payment gateway fees and content are usually extra.
The three price bands, and what each one buys
A basic site is a few pages: what you do, your work, how to reach you, and a WhatsApp or call button. Market guides put it at roughly ₹10,000 to ₹25,000. A business site you can update yourself, built on a CMS with more pages, a blog or a booking form, runs about ₹30,000 to ₹75,000. An online store with a cart, payments and stock starts near ₹15,000 on a template and goes past ₹3 lakh once the design and integrations are custom. These are ranges published by hosting companies and agencies, not one firm's rate card, and the spread is wide because "a website" covers all three.
What actually moves the price
Three things, in this order. The number of distinct page types, not pages: ten product pages from one template cost less than three pages that are each designed differently. The features that do work for the customer, such as a quote cart, a booking form, a product builder or payments, because each one has to be built and tested. And who writes the words and takes the photographs. The same exporter catalogue can be a small job or a large one depending on whether those three are settled before the build starts.
The costs left out of most quotes
Hosting and domain renewal, which is often free for the first year and then is not. Payment gateway fees, typically 2 to 3 percent per transaction plus GST, paid to the gateway rather than to the developer. And content: the product list, the photographs and the text, which is where most projects actually stall. Ask for all three in writing before you compare two quotes, or you are comparing different things.
If your site will take online payments in India, Razorpay is the gateway we set up for our clients. Open a Razorpay account. Partner link: we may earn a share of Razorpay's fee. It costs you nothing extra.
Where a small business should start
With the smallest site that lets a customer do the one thing you want them to do: ask for a quote, book, order or call. For an exporter that is a product list with a quote cart; for a shop it is a catalogue with WhatsApp ordering; for a service business it is clear pages and a booking link. Everything else can be added later without rebuilding. Paying for a large site before you know which pages bring enquiries is the most common way small businesses overspend.

Straight answers
How much does a small business website cost in India?
Usually ₹5,000 to ₹50,000. A basic static site is about ₹10,000 to ₹25,000, a CMS site you can edit yourself about ₹30,000 to ₹75,000, and an online store from about ₹15,000 on a template to ₹3 lakh or more when custom-built. These are market ranges; a fixed price needs a quote for your business.
Is a website builder cheaper than hiring a developer?
For the first year, usually yes: builder and managed hosting plans can run a few thousand rupees a year. You pay in your own time instead, and you are limited to what the builder supports. If the site needs a quote cart, a product builder or a booking flow, a built site can be cheaper over two or three years.
How long does a small business website take?
About a week for a few pages once the content exists, and a few weeks for a store or a custom feature. The delay is almost always waiting on product lists and photographs, not the build.
